Foot loops are garment details often used in children's outerwear (softshell suits, rainwear, winter suits, softshell pants). The main purpose of foot loops is to hold clothes in place and prevent them from riding up, especially for active children who move around a lot. They can also help footwear (e.g. rubber boots) stay on better. The most popular materials for insoles are silicone, rubber or leather.

For example, they are also ideal for Oikotie softshell pants, which are not equipped with foot loops, but have buttons for attaching them. Silicone foot loops are much more comfortable than textured ones as they are waterproof and do not absorb moisture or dirt.
